Last summer i tried a sample of a weight loss drug (brand name, injector thing) from my doc. 1.5 i think the dose was? I felt a very mild nausea for 1, maybe two days. That was it. I could do my workouts, and i lost about 12 pounds in a month.
Fast forward about 6 months, and my appetite starts increasing. Eating habits get worse and worse, and i seriously found it almost impossible to stop. Wanted to eat from the moment i got home from work. Gained all the weight back plus another 10.
Three months later, so now like 9 months after the brand name one. I tried a compounder and started first with the pills. They did absolutely nothing. I increased the dose -- still nothing. So the online doc gave me the glp-1 in shot form. The first half a week was absolutely horrible nausea. Vomiting multiple times a day. Plus almost no energy. Workouts have become increasingly difficult.
I did that for a month, scaling down the dosage on his orders, but still experienced nausea. Not quite as bad, but there every day, and energy levels still abysmal. After the month, i ask to switch to tirzepatide because i heard the side effects might be lighter. I'm on my first week of that, and it's about the same, maybe worse. And energy is definitely worse. I've lost about 15-17, so it's effective, but the cost...
I can accept that maybe the side effects are just more pronounced with me than some, but i can't understand why it's so much worse than it was last year with the name brand stuff. Any ideas?
