Traders/wholesalers?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to better understand how small used-car dealers in Ireland source their stock.

Do most independent dealers mainly buy from Irish trade auctions, main dealer trade-ins, fleet/rental disposals, finance repossessions, or do many also import directly from Europe, for example Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, etc.?

I’m also interested in learning whether there are any reputable trade-only wholesalers, dealer platforms, or auction networks in Ireland that small dealers commonly use.

Not looking for private car-buying advice, more trying to understand how the trade works from a dealer/wholesale perspective.

Any insight from people in the motor trade would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

I’m an EU citizen and I moved to Ireland a few months ago. I’m trying to understand the rules around buying my first home here, especially the First Home Scheme.

Does anyone know if being an EU citizen is enough to qualify, or do you need to have lived and worked in Ireland for a certain period before applying?

I’m also wondering how banks usually view applications from someone who has only been in Ireland for a few months but is employed here.

Any advice or experience would be appreciated, especially from anyone who applied shortly after moving to Ireland.

Cheers!
