The Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince has been restricted for way too long, and it's devastating real people.
Families can't get home for funerals. Businesses are collapsing. Tourism—which used to bring in real money for Haiti—has dried up completely. This isn't some distant policy problem; it's people stuck unable to see their loved ones, and an entire economy gasping for air.
I started a petition asking the Haitian government and international aviation authorities to reopen commercial flights at this airport. We're not asking for the gates to swing open with zero safety measures. Other countries have reopened airports with phased plans, health screenings, and controlled passenger flow. It works. Haiti deserves the same chance to rebuild.
If you've got family there, or you just think an entire nation shouldn't be cut off from the world, consider signing and sharing this. Have you or anyone you know been separated from family because of travel restrictions? What would you do if that was your loved one waiting on the other side?
