Looking for a planar that can rumble a bit.
Budget and location - US under $1000 but prefer not to go that high.
Source/Amp - I have a focusrite scarlett solo.
How the gear will be used - At my computer and probably only there.
Preferred tonal balance - I like more bass and a warmer sound in general.
Preferred music genres - I like electronic music like Fred Again, Tom Misch, FKJ, etc..
Past gear experience - I currently have a DT 770 Pro, and Meze 105 AER
Anything else? - Mainly will use them for gaming, music and general browsing. Looking for something that will be immersive in games without sacrificing too much competitively. The 2 I have been looking at are the Hifiman Edition XS and the Audeze MM-100. I know planars are not made to thump like a dynamic driver so want something I can I adda bass shelf to. I heard both can take eq well but that the Edition XS might edge out the MM-100. Only downside Ive heard about the XS so far is the headband isn't for everyone but saw they have after market straps that are nice.
If you have any other suggestions that would also be great, these are just the two I have honed in on. Also any source gear upgrades you think might be good.
