I’m so thrilled with my genioplasty results I’ve lived over 45 years being very self conscious of my lower jaw. I often was not really present during in person conversations because I was so focused on how my chin looked to others. It’s was exhausting… I am 1 month post op sliding genioplasty where my surgeon made a t cut to taper my wide jaw… I still have a significant amount of swelling on the tip of my chin and under my chin. Despite that, I can clearly see that the surgery was a success. Healing has been a journey for me. I’ve been told that my swelling may have been more intense and will linger longer because my surgeon made 4 cuts to my jaw…. Anywho, feel free to ask any questions… my movements were 4.4 mm forward and 5.5 height reduction.

I recently had sliding genioplasty. My surgeon injected 5 FU injections post op at my 1 and 2 week appointments. I was wondering is this a common intervention for swelling? It’s a pretty painful procedure but I have seen good results… although I have a pretty tight knot forming under my jaw …. Curious to see what type of results other people have seen? Did it speed up your recovery? How many treatments did you receive. Any information you can share would be super helpful!
