Does anyone find newer models of Altra e.g. escalante, torin, lone peak etc feel very stiff and not really cushioned? I use Lems primal zen which are relatively minimal which are great.

However, I feel the foam Altra have been using lately are extremely stiff and uncomfortable. I know the new torin 9 will have the updated P35 midsole which provides a more comfortable ride, but seriously concerned about the escalante which retains the same old ego midsole. Topo are unfortunately riddled with arch support that break my feet despite their zip foam being soft and comfortable 🥲

I just bought myself a pair of torin 8 in a wide fit. The colour I bought was black with the white sole. They’re amazing so far.

However, can someone enlighten me if the standard shoe is significantly narrower than the wide fit? I really want them in the black colour way for my job as a teacher, but I don’t think Altra sells the wide fit in all black. I prefer the wide fit in altra (lone peak 9 is wide fit) primarily because I have scars on my feet from surgeries I’ve had in the past and any shoe material rubbing on the scars causes quite a bit of pain. I found the standard lone peak 9 a little snug…

I wear lems zen primal every day and they fit perfectly for my feet which are a EE fit.

My kettle stopped work which coincidentally resulted in the kitchen sockets not working. I’ve changed the socket where the kettle was and it’s still not working. None of the circuit breakers tripped when the kettle stopped working. I have tried to turn them off and on again to no avail.

There is no fire/heat damage to the socket or wires.

Any ideas?
