All warning lights on dash
A few days ago I went to start my 2018 Accord Sport and suddenly almost every warning light/message possible popped up on the dash (TPMS, power steering, brake system, driver assist systems, etc.).
I searched around and found a lot of older threads saying it was usually either:
- a weak/failing battery/low voltage issue, or
- the ABS/VSA modulator assembly going bad.
I took the battery to AutoZone and they said the battery health tested “good,” but it was only at about 50% charge. I charged it overnight on a battery tender and the charger eventually showed fully charged, but when I started the car again all the warnings were still there.
Since this started, I’ve driven the car ~80 miles and mechanically everything seems completely normal:
- car starts fine
- steering feels normal
- brakes feel normal
- no battery light
- no drivability issues
One thing that makes me still suspicious of the battery is that I bought the car about 6 years ago and have never replaced the battery, so there’s a decent chance it’s still the original factory battery.
Before I bite the bullet and take it to a shop, I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this or has suggestions on what I should check next. Did this end up being a battery issue for anyone, or was it actually the modulator assembly/ABS system, something else?
Thanks
