A couple years ago I was working remote and wanted to upgrade some of my home office stuff. One of the more difficult items to purchase based on my past size and weight was a good office chair that was both comfortable and could support my weight.

I also knew that there a few different items in life that you really want to invest good money in (now including zepbound lol) - and that's a good mattress and a good office chair. So I didn't want to cheap out and buy something random off of amazon. I did literal hours of research and decided to bite the bullet and buy a Herman Miller Mirra 2.

For those of you who are unaware; you're paying a pretty penny for anything with the Herman Miller name attached to it, but more so on their flagship models such as the Aeron and Mirra. Even till now, the Mirra 2 goes for $1600 brand new. And thats what I paid for it.

Alas...

I couldn't use it. My thighs were a bit to thick for the raised sides of the chair to the point that the stiff plastic frame that's meant to support the mesh seat itself was digging into the undersides of my thighs. I didn't want to deal with the whole return process so I decided to let my mom use it for a while. Of course, she never really did as it sat in her basement office collecting dust. But that was until I started a new job last week where, lo and behold, they sit us in Mirra 2's and much to my surprise - I CAN FIT IN THE CHAIR?

I immediately got home that evening and dragged that sucker up two flights of stairs and sat it right back down in front of my home office set up and it's a night and day difference!

Anyways, that's my little feel good story for the evening. It's just interesting how I'm finding all these small but very significant improvements to my everyday life. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Have a great week everyone!
