I'm wanting to set up cloche tunnels for my garden beds, I don't mind putting money into something that will last and work well. I'm looking at the Redpath 800x600 hoops and also the growingthings.co.nz hoops, which come in a range of heights. Kath irvine recommends in her book -the taller the better… so I have been looking at hoops that are 1mt tall or 1.3 mts tall. These would be great for growing peppers and cabbage, but would they be too tall for the leafy greens and smaller veg? Perhaps being unable to heat the soil the same as a shorter tunnel?

I'd appreciate any feedback on both brands and your experience and recommendations with different heights please.

Decimated pea seedlings.

I left my peas outside last night to harden them off reading for planting out in a day or two. ( Right from first sign of sprouting they had been spending their days outside and nights inside). Only to come out this morning and find them knocked over, a few peas pulled out completely and the rest eaten to stumps. 😭😭 I live in Northland (Whangarei) is it too late in the season to start again?

Also please share your proven tips to stop this happening again once they're in the garden.
