Most founders think GST matters only after profit. That’s not always true. ❌️

A lot of first-time founders think GST registration only matters once the business starts making profit.

But that’s usually not how it works.

In many cases, GST registration depends on things like:

> turnover

> interstate sales

> selling online

> type of service/business

Meaning some startups and freelancers may need it much earlier than expected.

We’ve seen founders ignore this in the early stage thinking:

“we’ll handle it later.”

Then later becomes:

• notices

• penalties

• marketplace/payment issues

• unnecessary stress

Honestly, compliance is one of those things nobody likes talking about while building a startup—but fixing mistakes later is always more expensive.

Curious to know:

What’s been the most confusing compliance/legal thing for you while building? Comment down.
