Is this sleep paralysis or paranormal?

First the first time ever in my life, I had a really strange and slightly scary dream experience and I’m trying to understand.

In the dream, everything was completely dark. It felt like I was sleeping inside the dream, but at the same time I was conscious. My eyes were closed in the dream, and irl i slightly became aware that I'm dreaming but didn't open my eyes(i cannot say couldn't because i didn't try to open my eyes)..

In the sleep inside my dream, I sensed some kind of presence. I couldn’t see a face or any clear form, just a dark “entity” or something. It felt like it was trying to communicate or more like saying something dominantly to me and coming to my face, but I couldn’t understand what it was saying. As it got closer and closer, I started feeling like it was going to take control over me or my soul.

At that moment, I suddenly felt a strong jerk (like a shock) inside the dream, and I somehow managed to escape or snap out of it within the dream itself.

The weirdest part is that the whole time, I was aware that I was dreaming..

I don't understand shiii, this is the first time I've experienced this bizarre dream.

Is this my first lucid dream? Is this my first sleep paralysis? Or is this something more than that or a paranormal experience?? Please help me interpret and understand what I felt?

Am I the problem??

I’ve realized I really value meaningful, productive conversations where I can learn something or see a new perspective. The problem is, the group I usually hang out with isn’t like that at all.

They mostly just roast each other. It was funny at first, but now it feels repetitive and honestly annoying. I either have to pretend I’m enjoying it or just sit there quietly and zone out.

Recently, someone new joined our group, and they're exactly the kind of person I enjoy talking to. Our conversations are actually interesting, and for the first time I feel engaged instead of drained. So naturally, I’ve started talking to them a lot more.

But now I’ve noticed something in myself that I don’t like. I feel anxious that I’ll “lose” that connection if they start talking more with others.

This isn’t new for me. I’ve seen this pattern before. I connect really well with someone, we have great conversations, but over time they build other connections and drift away, and I’m left feeling… replaced, I guess.

I don’t want to control who they talk to or anything like that. I just don’t like this anxious feeling and I don’t really know how to deal with it.

Has anyone else experienced this? How do you handle it?
