my house is so old and has a billion cracks in the windows and even the flooring has gaps in every room, ive tried so many things to get rid of ants. obviously ant traps (which they dont care about). ive tried the sugar water and borax technique and it usually keeps them in that area but it doesnt seem to be working in the way i hoped. they just keep coming back for it. i find only one or two on me every now and then, when im playing video games and even while im sleeping, it makes my skin crawl i hate them SO MUCH!!! i have my diffusers with peppermint oil on the side of my bed and in the kitchen next to the sink. but it doesnt stop them from climbing onto me. please what else can i do about these evil creatures, i clean every single day maybe not hospital intensity of clean, but they just wont stop tormenting me. im gonna get some caulk and try to fill in the gaps in windows and everything, what can i use on the gaps in the flooring?? theyre pretty large gaps in some areas and others are fine, but my house very much gives "landlord fix". i am just at a loss on how to get these things under control. theyre in every single room please give me all advice possible

i already have 8 cats, two are inside outside cats, and the neighborhood i live in (plymouth indiana) has tons of strays. the thing is i have just enough money to take care of my babies now, so theres no way i could take on vet bills for any more. i feed the strays and leave food and water out, i have a little safe house for when its raining or snowing. im too attached to give away any of my babies now. i just feel so bad for the strays. theres this black cat who has scars all over and she scratches the back of her ears so much that they are bright red in blood. theres an orange cat who drools and has snot bubbles, definitely some sort of infection in his teeth or something. another fluffy orange one whos matted. theres more that come by but those 3 are who i worry for the most. but im new to caring for cats like this. ive only ever lived with one or two cats in my moms house, before about 8 months ago when i moved out here. i dont know how rescues work and i dont know how to call them or who to call, their policies, i am just in the dark and i dont want to let these strays go uncared for. please give me suggestions or phone numbers and what to say and do 🙏🙏
