New drops from Module just landed!
Module in Edinburgh have just dropped three new releases! I have ordered the washed Typica Mejorado. To be honest I could have happily ordered all three.🤘🤘🤘

Hi all. I am adding a column to our spreadsheet of UK roasters ( pinned top of feed ) for the type of roasting equipment used. I thought this would be great for helping choose profile and intention of the roaster plus will be loads of fun. If you roast or know could you post what type of roaster ( Loring, Giesen etc ) your local or favourite team are using please. 🙏
Spaceboys hand built custom roaster pic for attention. TIA.
A heads up that Formative have the beans for sale used at the English aeropress championship this year. I have some on the way and I’m well chuffed.
Something I have always wondered though is: Are competition lots beans of a very high grade beans worthy of competition. Or beans that have the potential to be amazing but will need skill and precision to express. Maybe they can be either depending on the roaster and competition maybe 🤔
Anyway these from formative should be great to play and have fun with 🤘🤘🤘
I had a lovely time last night meeting Joel from Jollybean coffee roasters. It was really good to hear Joel’s story and journey in coffee roasting while getting a chance to cup a wide selection of his roasts. We explored mango, rose, strawberry, lychee and blackcurrant co ferments. There was also Joel’s house blend and a couple of Colombians I think, one plummy while the other was giving cherry notes. The notes were really popping especially as they cooled.
It was also so nice to meet other coffee nerds and chat about all things coffee. After London coffee week Joel has kindly agreed to be a featured roaster for us with an AMA and more!
Finally opened my honey processed jasmine scented Catimor from killbean. These are from Boashan within the Yunnan region. These are nine weeks off roast to give them plenty of time to rest and develop. Very pungent with Jasmine as I would have expected as it such a strong aroma. In the mouth though it is well balanced giving a fudge and creamy mouthful. Utterly delicious and very much the standard I am coming to expect from Killbean. Top draw 👌
Had a great time at Drip in Holmfirth today trying some exciting beans. A couple of UK offerings, one from dark arts and another from Cafen. The Cafen bourbon papayo was brewed as a pour over, a soup and an ambient immersion brew! The beans are to me what the dark arts should have tasted like, a strawberry dream! So much character in the ambient brew, aroma and taste off the scales! Tasted like an iced tea with an almost cider aspect. Sensational.
