Was sind eure?

Which public cases in your country exposed misogyny and failures to protect women?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how misogynistic patterns only really become visible to a broader public when a specific case breaks through.

In Germany, the case of Fernandez has sparked discussions around violence against women, institutional gaps, and how poorly systems sometimes protect those at risk. It’s not just about one case, but about the patterns behind it.

I’m curious how this shows up elsewhere:

Are there public cases in your country that made antifeminist attitudes, victim blaming, or failures of the legal system particularly visible?

Not looking for sensationalism, but for examples where something structural became obvious through a real situation. (We talked about this in a recent podcast episode, it’s in German, but if anyone’s interested I can share the link.)

Would really appreciate hearing perspectives from different contexts.

Hey 👋 we host a (German) casual talk podcast about everyday life, pop culture, and whatever’s on our minds.

In our latest episode we start pretty light: awkward hair phases, leftover vacation days, orchestra, wakeboarding, just normal conversation

but then we get into something many people recognize: free time suddenly feeling like a to-do list and the pressure to “make the most of it”.

From there we jump back to school (uncool vs uncool) and look back, laughing, at French and math classes that felt pretty traumatizing at the time. And then it shifts: we talk about the Fernandez case and the question of how to show stance and be active in everyday life. a mix of topics, but one shared perspective: honest, connecting, thoughtful and curious. If that sounds interesting, feel free to check it out 🙂
