Can I become an ADN with my record?

There are two major barriers in my way:

  1. I have a B.S. in Biology, but I graduated with a 2.74. Will that be too low to get into an ADN program?

  2. This winter, I got a DUI. It has not been resolved in court yet, but my lawyer expects it to be reduced to a careless driving charge with alcohol as an aggravating factor.

I have messed my life up (twice now). Is there any shot I can still become an ADN? I can and will ace my pre-reqs. I am going to take the TEAS and the HESI a2 and expect to do well on them.

I'm interested in joining Rasmussen's rad tech program because of its rapid entry and regular start dates. The price is much lower than other for-profits in my area, but I'm worried it will look bad on resumes when I am applying for positions.

Any rad techs here from Rasmussen? Hiring managers, would you reconsider an interview if you noticed a Rasmussen degree?

Unfortunately, I am worried about being accepted to a community college with their much more competitive admissions.

I am/was an idiot. I got a DUI in December of this year. I expect my charge to be dropped down to a wet reckless misdemeanor. My former career path is no longer an option, so I'm hoping to switch careers and become a rad tech.

Will I be employable in hospitals in the future? I have heard many do not accept anyone with a DUI. I plan to submit an ARRT ethics review before starting my course, so I will know if I can take the exam. I'm still worried I'll spend tons of money on courses only to end up unemployable in the future.

Also, should I wait to submit an ethics pre-approval form until after my case has gone through the courts?

Thank you for any advice
