I’m looking for a versatile motorcycle, and after a long search, I’ve narrowed it down to these two options.
A little background. I’ll mainly be using the bike for daily trips around town—to work, running errands, going to the store... It’s really important that it’s easy to maneuver through traffic and in traffic jams. I plan to install a rear trunk and side bags. I often carry a passenger. So most of the time (80%), I’ll be riding the motorcycle fully loaded in heavy city traffic.
Another 15% is trips to neighboring cities and states on the open road. Often on rough roads. With potholes and speed bumps every 10 meters... With a passenger and cargo. But sometimes there are good stretches of highway where I want to pick up speed to 90–100 km/h.
And the last 5% is rocks, clay, and other similar terrain.
A comfortable seat is also very important, both for the passenger and the rider.
Unfortunately, in our country, only the most basic 5-speed version of the BOXER BM with drum brakes on both wheels is available. The TVS is usually also only available in a 5-speed version with drum brakes, but sometimes they bring in a version with a disc brake on the front wheel. The gear ratio isn’t particularly important. I currently ride a Chinese motorcycle with a circular gearbox like the BOXER, and it doesn’t cause me any inconvenience.
Which of these options would you recommend for my needs?
