Bike Safe Limerick Review

Bike Safe Limerick Review

So , did the Bikesafe in limerick yesterday and had a fantastic day. I know some of the other lads in other parts of the country didn't have a positive experience, but I can say without hesitation that it was one of the best things you can do.

The four Gardaí were as sound a group of lads as you could meet and were very constructive in their feedback. now it was helped by an absolutely glorious day and bone dry roads. There was 8 riders and 4 Garda. And we went off in pairs out the estuary road to Glin where we stopped for sandwich and a coffee and the whole group sat down and chatted. From there onto Athea, Abbeyfeale, Newcastle West, Adare and back to Henry St. So we had everything. Sweeping country roads, filtering in traffic through Adare and Limerick and some motorway driving which was great.

Of the 8 people there, only 3 of us were local the other lads were from Portlaoise, Dublin and Wicklow which i was surprised by. now the Garda at the end mentioned that we should get our certs from BikeSafe, I wasn't too bothered personally as I thought the practical learning on the day was brilliant for me personally.

Everyone mentioned the lack of spots around the country and the lads did say that they are limited with resources and dates of how many they can run.

So in a nutshell the Limerick event was a brilliant learning experience and I would have no hesitation doing one again in a few years to refresh.

Bikesafe Limerick

Morning Everyone,

I'm doing the Bikesafe in Limerick Sunday. And I was just wondering from anyone who has done it, what's the story with stopping for lunch? Do you bring grub with you or is it a stop and sandwich coffee day.

Thanks
