I consider myself a life long fantasy fan. I've been enamored with all things magical and swordy since I was a lad. I read so many series as a kid and young adult, and got into mythology by association. But the last few years or so, I've been in a fantasy rut. I've tried to start a few different series, but nothing spoke to me.

I downloaded Shadow and Claw ,and gave it a shot. Wolfe's prose drew me in, but the world building and the mystery around Urth kept me going. The vibes are immaculate throughout. It's like James Joyce discovered dungeons and dragons instead of Catholicism.

I haven't been this enthralled with a book since I was a little kid. It's a joy I thought I'd forgotten. I just finished Shadow and Claw ,and I'm furiously psyched for Sword and Citadel. Thanks to everyone who recommended it.
