Economic frenemies?
New to X4, having some thoughts on crippling factions without losing reputation.
So, there was a post by someone a while ago about blocking an NPC station by filling the dock with cheap ships, but from the comments, that doesn't seem reasonable considering the docking module's internal storage.
After considering if you could starve a station by having a small fleet of ships with repeating orders to dock and undock, I had another idea:
If the player actions can *feed* a station by selling resources to it, can you *starve* a station by buying?
Assume I want a swarm of Nodans as cannon fodder, but I don't have the blueprint yet, and I don't like the idea of supporting VIG. If I don't trade with them, but I make sure I always have a construction que in their wharf, they should be constantly starved for resources, right?
Sure, it would cost me more, but I don't have to worry about having to build reputation, they don't get deleted, but they would have trouble maintaining their power, right?
I would have to sell more to make up the cost, but my ship production can be focused on higher end ships, continuing the assumption from before.
Should work for factions that I don't like, but I can't be bothered to fully attack.
You could even start to build your fleet before you ever build a station, just at a smaller scale, assuming you can get the money.
