Had a disappointing experience with carmax. Looking at buying a 2017 car. They had already replaced 1 tire on the rear (its a fwd) typically they should replace 2 tires as far as i know not to create imbalances. The tires themselves are cracked and the rubber is hard. This car has under 15k miles. I spoke to the manager and he assured me they were fine that he used to work in a tire shop and they were only 3 years old. He even said they usually replace in pairs but wouldnt elaborate why they didnt on this car. Upon further inspection when I got home they are from 2017 via the dot codes last 4 which reads "2317" which equates to the 23rd week in 2017, which is june, when the car was also made. The tread depth on the 3 tires are 5/32 to 4/32. Im still within my 10 day window. Just wondering how you would proceed. Do I have to eat this or would you fight this.
