What shoes to get for a 2 weeks hike on the polish baltic coast?
This summer I will go on a 2 weeks hike that spans about 200km on the polish baltic coast and my gf, who's much more experienced than me with hiking, is begging me to get another pair of shoes. I currently have a pair of Lowa Renegade GTX mid, have always been very comfortable so I was planning to use those, but she's saying goretex will trap heat and will dry slow, therefore it's not suitable for such a hike, she's trying to convince me to get a pair of trail running shoes, that are also lighter.
I'm not fully convinced, we will have heavy backpacks, and I think trail shoes would not be as comfortable (and durable) as proper hiking shoes, also considering it would be a new pair that I did not try hiking with like the renegade I already have.
There will be a lot of walking in sand and I believe the goretex suggestion is valid, therefore these would be my picks, I'm open to hear other opinions:
- RENEGADE EVO LL LO - Still has a lot of leather, therefore probably too hot?
- INNOVO LO - This would be my top pick, although heavier compared to trail ones
- AMPLUX 2 - Trail running option, if I had to choose one
- SKYTERRA - Other trail running option, although I'm not a fan of the big heel ones
