TLDR AT BOTTOM.

Started this project Feb 16th.

Demolition took 2 weeks with them stopping by at random times.

Electric was ran through the wall outside without checking with us and needed to be redone.

Drywall started March 30th and isn't done partially due to minor back injury working at another job with contractor and because his wife ended up in the ER. I do feel bad for both circumstances and would rather they prioritize health and family but I was left with many no call no show day, which I am upset at the contractor for.

Drywaller painted primer and first coat of paint Wednesday on top of visibly unsanded mud, patch netting (?) that shouldn't have needed any patching, and very visible dents.

Contacted contractor who told me to speak to drywaller myself because he was busy at the hospital with his wife. I do feel bad for him but very upset as to why any paint was applied. Last time he was here I was told he no longer has time to finish parts of the project or just can't do them as he doesn't have a guy to do that kind of work.

I spoke to drywall guy who told me more coats of paint will hide the thick brush strokes and that he couldn't see the dents or other imperfections like the netting before he painted. Also that the knee wall and slanted wall need to be curved because the framing wasn't flush and so the wall isn't level/flat and the curve hides that. Also didn't seem to know how to make a door out of drywall, which the contractor said was no problem.

Looking for help on if the overall work is acceptable/normal or if being upset would be appropriate. Pictures are of what he did thursday after speaking to him.

TLDR; i was told drywall is curved at knee/slanted wall because framing prevented the slanted wall from going on flat/level. He painted over unsanded mud, dents, and many other imperfections including patch netting (?) And told me he couldn't see them but now with me pointing them out in the paint he could see it. Does any of this sound right?
