biomed vs science
Hi everyone, ik this question gets asked a lot and people say to pick science because it’s more flexible and easier. But I’m wondering if that still applies if I’m already planning on taking the biomed-equivalent subjects in science anyway because I want to get into med (for context, I’m a chancellor's scholar so I need to maintain a 70+ WAM for guaranteed entry) Since I’d probably structure my science degree around med-related subjects regardless, I don’t think flexibility is a huge factor for me.
What I’m mainly wondering is whether the biomed-equivalent subjects are actually easier in science. For example, chemistry for biomedicine vs chemistry 1 and the double-credit subject in biomed vs doing anatomy and physiology separately in science.
But I’ve also heard rumours that they might remove the double-credit subjects and split them into 5 separate subjects and we choose 4 across the 2 years, which sounds like it would make biomed more similar to science anyway. My main concern tbh is just maintaining the 70 WAM.
Also, do you think not doing biomed would mean missing out on certain opportunities like ik only biomed students get the Chancellor’s mentoring program and I’m worried there might be other med-related opportunities that are only offered to biomed students. Does anyone know if this happens?
Any advice would be appreciated thanksss.
