First time in Nice, hotel recommendations?

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this is a question that gets asked often, I couldn’t find a thread with hotel recommendations that quite matched our situation. It will be our first time in Nice, and I’ll be travelling with my family (three of us, including a child).

We’ve been looking at hotels that are close to the beach and reasonably central, but I’m not sure whether looking for a hotel near the beach is the right choice, since that might mean being further from the city centre or transport links.

We’re planning to use Nice as a base and do day trips to Villefranche, Menton, Eze, Cannes, and Monaco, so on most days we’ll likely just return to Nice to sleep, except for the first day when we’ll spend more time exploring the city.

Our budget is around €500 per night, and we’re happy to stay in one room as there’s a child with us. Initially we were considering the Radisson Blu near the Promenade because it seemed to fit our requirements. Le Méridien was slightly out of our price range, and at the moment we’re leaning toward the Mercure on the Promenade as well.

I would really appreciate any hotel recommendations or advice on location. We are ideally looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel. Being within walking distance of the beach would be nice so we can take an evening stroll or watch the sunset, but it’s more of a preference.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!
