Draw down intraday for 50k PRO account

Hi all,

I am trying to fully understand the rules before I accidentally mess something up. I currently have a 50k PRO account and I’m almost at $52,000, so I’m close to completing the buffer zone. My plan is to withdraw once I get to around $52,500.

What I’m confused about is how the trailing drawdown works after a withdrawal. For example, if I withdraw $500 at $52,500, does the drawdown then calculate from $52,000 moving forward? Or does it reset somewhere around $50,500?

I’ve read the rules a few times but just want to make sure I’m understanding it correctly before I do anything dumb unintentionally.

How do you all manage your accounts once you start withdrawing? Do you leave extra cushion? Reduce size? Would love to hear everyone’s strategies and experiences.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

After four attempts, I finally passed the eval and made it to the pro account — but now a new headache begins. The intraday trailing rule honestly feels like a nightmare.

I primarily trade NQ and MNQ, but given how aggressive the intraday trailing is (and how fast NQ moves), I’m leaning toward trading MNQ exclusively on this account.

My usual approach is pretty straightforward: I wait for a pullback candle, enter on the break of the previous candle, and then scale out progressively while leaving runners with a trailing stop. The issue is, with the intraday trailing, the more I let a trade run, the tighter the threshold gets on the back end — which feels like it works against my style.

Curious if anyone else trades this way. Do you stick with scaling out and runners, or have you shifted more toward a “get in, get out” approach because of the trailing rule?

Would really appreciate any insight — thanks in advance.
