Hello, I am a 40 year old male GTA ( Toronto ) area. I was diagnosed with Bicuspid aortic valve in 2022 during my annual check up and have been monitored yearly.

This March I stated having symptoms and found out that stenosis has progressed a lot in just a few months now and borderline severe.

After pushing my cardiologist he finally referred me to angiogram. The angiogram went fine and the cardiologist who did the procedure Dr. Burk had sent a referral to surgeon ( Dr. Singh) and there is first surgeon consultation in 3 weeks.this was doner in Mississauga trillium hospital. The doctor didn't give me any details post angiogram.

At follow up consultation with cardiologist on angiogram, he didn't explain anything. I was surprised that he didn't even offer me the Ross procedure option, I explicitly asked for a referral to Toronto Peter Munk Dr. Maral Ouzounian and he said he can't give it unless I meet surgeon Dr. Singh first.

I am worried and anxious, is there a possibility to change my cardiologist at this point? Can I ask my family doctor for a direct referral to Peter Munk?

Please help
