I am 70 years old. Been riding since 1967, and with her since 1973. My lady has severe dementia and her mind clears and eyes get wide at talk of riding together again. We met in 8th grade and she is my one and only girlfriend. Married 53 years. So of course I went shopping. Found a great dyna twinkie in blue. It came with a full tank and who am I to waste free gas? That healing wind kicked in when I snapped the dyna into 6th gear and settled in at 2250 rpm. Pipes thundering, wind cleaning the cob webs and healing the soul. The towns came and went. White law, Brillion, Forest Junction. We were getting to know each other. The dyna is named Griz and he likes it about 75-80 mph. He loves to let it loose on a stretch. Confident and comfortable at 110 mph. Rolled through Appleton. Hit the freeway and turned him back home to meet the girl for coffee and a full report. Shakedown ride is always solo. The coffee was great…I gushed about the 200 miles of sheer bliss and she smiled and made plans for a lunch up in door county. Life is hard. Hands you tough things, but God rewards those that stay the course. So if you see us on the road, know I am a very blessed man.
