Considering the switch to in-house and want to know what actual day-to-day looks like?

Been at a mid-size firm for a few years doing mostly commercial contracts and some general corporate work. In-house has always been in the back of my mind but I've never had a real honest conversation with someone about what it's actually like beyond the "better work-life balance" talking points.

Curious about:
- What does a genuinely typical day look like for you?
- What parts of the job are actually engaging vs. mind-numbing?
- What do you wish someone told you before making the switch?
- What's harder than you expected?
- Do you feel like you're still growing as a lawyer or does the work get stale?
- How much do you interact with the business side vs. just reviewing contracts all day?

I ask because from the outside it honestly looks like a lot of repetitive contract redlining and babysitting business people who ignore your advice anyway but I'm hoping someone will tell me I'm wrong. Or right.

Any industry (tech, construction, healthcare, finance) would be super helpful to hear from. Really appreciate the candid takes.

I'm considering building a AI solution for in-house legal teams

Hey all, I'm a founder doing customer discovery for an AI product built specifically for in-house legal teams. Not here to pitch! I have nothing built yet, just genuinely trying to understand the job before building anything.

My thesis is a lot of work in house can be done with agents, but pin pointing exactly what, has been a up hill battle. I am super keen to learn and am reaching out to see if anyone is willing to hop on a call, or drop some tit bits of info!

Much appreciated!
