Should I be concerned?
This is Winnie. He’s two years old. On our second walk today, he started hacking a lot (as if he had something stuck in his throat). Sometimes he’d bring up nothing and other times he’d spit up a thick dog loogie.
It’s been two hours since our walk and he’s still doing it here and there, not as often. It’s more of a cough now (like in the video).
Could this be allergies? He also does tug on his leash (😅) so maybe irritation? I’ve been googling and have obviously read the worst — tracheal collapse.
He’s resting right now. Had dinner and drank water like normal. Doesn’t seem to have a fever. No passing out. No wheezing with breaths.
I have a vet visit on June 1st for something unrelated, should I get him seen sooner?
First time dog-owner so I just want to make sure I’m addressing it quickly if necessary. Appreciate any help/insight in advance. 🙏
