Assault's character designs have always bothered me.

As someone who saw the potential in Assaults game design and had fun with it (despite obvious flaws), the character design (mostly the outfits) were always my least favorite part of the game, so here are my hot and stupid takes. The numbers listed below correspond to the pics above:

1-2) Though Fox's colors were always a mix of red, green, and white/grey since 64, the balance was off in Assault. Can't help but see his outfit as Christmas themed when I see it. I don't think "jolly" is the vibe I'm supposed to feel when playing as him.

- Also, his chompers are pretty unsettling.

  1. Falco's forehead is awkwardly tall, I kinda hate his shoulder pads/pauldrons, and red is too predominant in his design. I think reds/warm colors in the chest and leg area work (like in previous designs), but something about it being on his arms throws it off. Wish I could explain why, cause it's not just "different bad."

- seriously, bro has a fivehead

4-5) Peppy's nose being grey and more noticeable is oddly distracting to me. Also not a fan of facial hair on anthros (I'm looking at you too, Beltino, you amphibian bastard. You're not even supposed to have hair!). I would prefer a pseudo-stache where the fur around his mouth maybe grows longer and bushier, but a clearly human style of facial hair on an anthro just ruins it for me.

  1. Slippy, get out of that mustard suit RIGHT NOW and get back in your classic outfit! Or just something else, please. You'll always be dat boi, but c'mon.

  2. Krystal ur fine

  3. ROB ur too C3PO

  4. General Pepper is melting too much. Also he's got mad thunder thighs, but I won't shame him for that.

  5. Wolf is okay, though the shoulder spikes/mantle/whatever the heck it's called looks awkward. I think it being one solid piece is bothering me. If they were separate pads, I could tolerate it more, so basically his Brawl design.

  6. Leon is too damn purple, but I still love him.

  7. Panther is appropriately gaudy and fabulous.

  8. Pigma appropriately looks like shit.

  9. Andrews upper lip is a skyscraper. So is his torso. I know we're supposed to hate him, but the designers went TOO FAR.

- dinky ass lil arms and legs

I don't know much about NateTheHate, but regardless, why bother putting so much stock in what leakers say? Is the most recent influx of despair because a date he predicted has passed by with nothing happening? The despair seems so unwarranted, and I've been a fan since the n64 era. I know frustration of being a Starfox fan very well.

I'm not happy about the lack of content, but come on. You can be pleasantly optimistic without the impatient copium. Stop treating rumors as confirmations.
