I've been thinking about the upcoming CBA negotiations and another potential lockout coming up in 2027 and I'm wondering what everyone's potential solution to the salary cap issue, do we need a salary cap? How would we implement one? Would the players even agree to any cap under any circumstances? My solution would be something like no more than 3 contracts exceeding 15% of the total payroll OR no more than 2 contracts above 20% calculated annually using AAV value. I doubt anyone would agree to this but I think it's a solid way to limit stacking max contracts like the Dodgers or Mets. What is everyone thinking about this issue and the potential effects?
