Is there a name for a Chicken Paprikash varient with thin sauce?
I make a family recipe that is similar to Chicken Paprikash and Halusky but do not know the name of it.
I sautée onions in crisco, add a whole chicken cut into parts, cover in water and add salt, pepper and paprika.
After the chicken is done, most recipes add sour cream and flour, but my family has never done this and just leave the juice thin.
I seperately make halusky, and cover them in the sauce when done to keep them hot.
Does anyone know if there is a name for this, or was my family just so poor they couldnt get the sour cream to add to it?
