Hourly Rate Understanding

Hi everyone,

I have newly started independent consulting, this is my second client. My first client was very helpful and they would adjust and offer me benefits without me asking. And I was grateful for that. However, this second client is a little different. So I am unsure on how to proceed with them in a few situation.

So, first situation is when I get my payment, the transfer fee of the transaction is cut from my payment instead of them adjusting the amount. Since, the fee is percentage based, the bigger the amount so will be the transfer fee. I have asked to adjust this as this was not discussed in the contract but they acting are saying their contractor pays this fee as part of the payment processing. My question is does this usually happen or should I stick to my statement?
Second is, I don’t work night hours. But I give an overlap window of four hours with client hours so I can address any concerns of their clients. However, now they are asking me to be available for my whole night and probably weekend for the Go-live. I would like to know how should I handle this situation. Can I request a separate rate for my night hours or not? Since I am just starting as an independent consultant, should I not negotiate?

I want to work with them long term but not at the expense of myself. For my experience, I do have a lot experience in my field. I am a D365 F&O consultant and my clients have spoken openly about my expertise either on LinkedIn or offered a reference letter.

apologies for the long post, but I would really appreciate the guidance on how consultants usually do.

Thank you in advance!
