How did Leif Erikson (and his crew) sleep on the voyage to America?

I used to write a few years ago, fell of the wagon but now I've decided to start writing my stories again. One new idea came to me, about the "mythical Vinland" in North America, but I always like to consider some logistical things before even sitting down, it's just what I do. Things like what did people eat, how'd they arrange their households, how'd they pray, etc etc.

Slowly, it dawned on me - if I'm gonna write about a voyage to Vinland, i'm gonna have to write about their trip over there. So... how *did* they sleep? I mean, I know what Viking ships looked like, and I know vaguely that they slept inbetween their rowing benches, right on the deck. That makes sense to me for short-to-medium length voyages (Norway to Orkney, for example), but from Iceland all the way to North America? Did they really just... huddle up under some furs and sleep on the deck? Maybe I'm overthinking it and this method really is how they slept, but I figured I should ask the historians! Thank you in advance for any and all replies!
