I wanna start with that this isn’t some ARG or creepypasta lol, this happened 5 years ago or something and I asked on Steam discussions about it, but no one replied. I forgot reddit was a thing so I thought I would ask here as well.
I saw the pyro video, wanted to play it, I downloaded the game on steam, launched it like normal, started playing like normal.
I did nothing specific or crazy for it to be able to launch a campaign or something else, literally launched the game like one would launch a game.
I saw the cutscene with the car but when I got to actually play I didn't get to play the actual story. I didn’t know this at the time, neither did my friend who I screenshared my game to, we just thought THIS was the game. It was mostly the same assets, I can't say for sure but everything had the same artstyle as the game should have. But there was no talking or text from what I can remember except "the door won't budge". More of a dream experience, I kept playing cuz I didn't know any better and thought this was it but after *2 HOURS* of playing and still not getting to the main story (I still hadn't seen Sophie) me and my friend started to question what was wrong with the game, searched around couldn’t find anything, so kept playing until I reached *3 HOURS* of gaming. Reason why I then stopped playing is because I got to a puzzle I couldn’t figure out at all and google of course couldn’t help me since the puzzle I was doing doesn't exist online. (turns out it was the recidivist end boss)
I got frustrated, deleted the entire game and redownloaded it, started a new playthrough and I got the story game like I wanted. But with that the saves I had of the weird stuff went as well, so I have no actual proof of it lol
I have looked through the campaigns, I can't say it's one of them because my gameplay was way too long for it to be one, but it did use most of its assets from the recidivist campaign, but I NEVER saw Sophie in my playthrough which kind of messes that up. And I also saw the cutscene with the car which does not play when starting that campaign. I’ve also played some of the real game now afterwards, so I’m unsure what parts are from the campaign mashup I played or the real one, it's been quite a while but here’s some other stuff I can remember:
The most unique thing that would be recognizable was very large room, one of the walls was made of skin and had ears, eyes and other human features moving around in mechanical motions. To the right of this wall there was a maze that moved in weird ways, I don’t even know how to describe it honestly. To the left of the skin wall there was another maze, I think. (This is from recidivist; I remember it looking differently to what I've seen others post but it has to be that lol)
Weird dreamlike parkour. (recidivist)
Park area with a small bridge and then void as the sky. (recidivist)
Having to walk on planks put between apartment balconies to traverse. (NOT recidivist unless I've missed something)
Walking in the dark woods to a bright patch, when getting to the patch there’s another patch visible that you have to walk to. (recidivist)
I know I sound insane but I randomly think about it at times and I wasn't the only one who saw it so I know I'm not making shit up 😞 Does anyone know what this could've been caused by? Or what the apartment sequence could be from?
