Contract law

Edit

Mod requested condensation

Quick back story:

Roughly a year ago I discovered mold in multiple places of my previous apartment. It had also affected an item and we had not only gotten verbal confirmation that remediation would be performed on the item, as well as multiple emails stating they were either working on finding vendors or didn't know where the item was when we told them for safety it couldn't be stored anywhere other than the contaminated apartment.

Could the multiple emails be used against them in court for breach of contract? I have verifiable evidence showing they agreed to perform those services at their cost but haven't yet.

Also:

Can I take them to court for creating a utility based debt trap by failing to provide us a bill for so long I ended up getting behind even after they "compensated" some of the charges.

I have multiple emails showing they were "going to provide it x date" multiple times. Again it took so long they caused a debt trap.
