Hey everyone!
I’m currently finishing up my second year studying Electrical Engineering, specializing in **Power Systems and Automation**. I’m starting to plan ahead for my third and final year, which means it’s time to start thinking about my Bachelor’s thesis.
I’m reaching out because I’d love to get some inspiration from professionals and upperclassmen. What are some of the most interesting, relevant, or in-demand topics in our field right now?
Here’s a bit of context on my situation:
• **The Siemens Opportunity:** I have a potential opportunity to complete my thesis in collaboration with Siemens, provided I can pitch them a really solid, relevant topic.
• **Solo Work:** Even if the Siemens collaboration doesn't work out, I am fully prepared and excited to work on the project independently at my university.
• **My Interests:** I'm generally interested in the intersection of power networks and modern automation \[(Optional:PLC programming, renewable integration)\].
I would really appreciate any suggestions you might have.
• What are some problems currently being faced in the industry that a senior undergrad could tackle?
• If you work at a company like Siemens, what kind of student projects catch your eye?
• What was your thesis on, and would you recommend that area?
Thanks in advance for any advice or brainstorms!
