I 35M married, make around 270k base as a data center construction senior project manager (very stressful and long hours 10+ hours consistently) . My wife 31F is in medical residency (zero debt) currently makes around 65k; however we live 3 hours apart because of her residency (2more years). Her income goes fully to own daily expenses. I live in DMV and have a $4000/month mortgage, zero debt, 60k in savings acoubt, another 70k in 401k.retirement account.

After 2 years, my wife will likely make 300-350k/year as a doctor.

No kids yet; but planning one this year.

Currently my take home from the 270k is around 150k (after taxes and 8% 401k contribution).

How should we optimize taxes and invest properly?
