Somehow it’s already been a full year and >150 puff squares made for this ridiculous project of mine. 14 cashmere sweaters taken apart to crochet up a puff square blanket.
It‘s about time to stuff the squares and finish this whole thing up! Since the get go, my idea has been to put it together in the pictures gradient style, but recently I’ve thought to do it randomly - surprisingly since I’ve been looking at the original style for so long, most people seem to prefer the random one.
Please feel free to give me your thoughts! Random would also have the advantage of being easier to organize and having it be simple to add more squares on if I choose :). However, I also won’t make my decision just based on convenience.
hopefully my next time on r/crochet will be to show a finished project, it’s been so long and I’m so eager to begin new (also ridiculous) works!
I’ve been working on this project to turn cashmere sweaters into a puff square blanket for a year now. It’s been a monster project of finding and unraveling 13 cashmere sweaters of less than fingering thickness, and while I’m only at 154/~300 puff squares, it feel like it’s time to start to wrap things up so that I can move on. I have other nonsense blanket projects I’d like to start on where I can start fresh without all of the beginner mistakes that this one has (I’d been crocheting for 6 months when I started this).
It will not be gigantic, but will at least make a very nice lap blanket at this size, and I figure I have at least enough of each color left to add one more row to each end after the fact.
I had an initial vision on color arrangement but have gotten a few different suggestions, so figured I’d ask opinions here. With either one I’d place the colors more intentionally the final time, but which do you prefer, the first or second layout?
