Remember to use fire safe dishware
Good afternoon. Today I learned the valuable lesson of why we should always use fire-safe dishes for spell work involving a flame!
I have been practicing for a couple years now but have never really kept up with doing rituals, and am overall a bit lacking in the common sense department. I have a plate that I've liked to use for spells as of recently, and that usually involves doing rituals without a flame. But today I tried out candle magick again, and I learned after the spell ended that glass dishes obviously don't go well with flame.
Yes. I know. It's very obvious why— and if not, then your answer is that it shatters and explodes.
I am so very lucky and protected to have done this outside rather than inside, and to have not injured myself by more than a small cut. I had some cooled down coffee sitting by my lap when my plate shattered, so I was lucky enough to have put the flame out immediately.
Baby witches, elder witches, even the cosmic stars from above. Please learn from my mistakes and invest in a proper fire safe dish. My coffee-covered porch will thank you.
