My husband and I just recently bought a new build home in December. We had planned to be here for several years so we weren't really worried about the difficulty of selling in a new build neighborhood however we now are having to relocate for work in November, less than a year since purchasing our house. We are trying to decide if it makes more sense to sell our home, which we're concerned will result in a significant loss, or rent it out for a few years before selling. For reference were around 40 minutes outside of Raleigh, NC. The home is around 2700 sq ft, 5 bed 3 full bath with a fenced .25 acre lot. Our loan is for around 350k and we pay approx 2500 a month. Most of the homes renting in our area are around 2k but are typically much smaller and obviously not as new, but I am also worried we may have a hard time finding folks that could afford >2500 a month in rent and have never rented out a home before so this would be a new process for us. Really our goal is to try to avoid a large loss. Any advice or suggestions?
