Listened to the latest episode (Mystery Box) of Fall of Skywalker last night and it’s really a treat! Going Rogue is a research podcast that goes behind messy film productions including notable Lucasfilm movies Solo, Rogue One, and now Episode IX. You don’t need to have listened to the previous episode’s as it delves into the time after Trevorrow’s firing.
This is probably one of the best breakdowns of JJ’s career (I don’t foresee a miniseries on blank check) and who he is as a director. Everyone has seen the Trevorrow’s script so it’s great to have something that goes into when JJ took over. Again, can’t highly recommend it enough because there are so many gems here and how Rise of Skywalker ended up as it did.
It’s fascinating to see how post Disney buyout, how quickly Lucasfilm’s aspirations to treat Star Wars as an artist driven nose-dive into what it is now.
