My 99-year-old grandmother, and other seniors in her building, are stuck in their homes right now.

She lives at 8 Country Village Bay NE, where the only elevator has failed inspection and could be out of service for up to FIVE MONTHS. She’s on the second floor and can’t safely use the stairs, which means she can’t even do basic things like check her mail. Moving her out isn’t an option either without elevator access.

It’s not just her as there are other vulnerable residents affected too. Even home health care providers are struggling to get in because of restricted stairwell access.

This feels like a serious safety issue. Has anyone dealt with something like this before or have advice on what can be done? Any help or direction would mean a lot.
