gym beginner help pls
Hi guys I’m really new to the gym. I’m 18 and female, 5’2, and I’m not sure what to do. Ik I want bigger legs and obviously a bigger glutes, and I want like a nice back and a nice core while still keeping my waist small. I’ve rlly been skinny all my life, so I’ve been keeping track and eating more, and this is week 2 of me going to the gym. I started off at 96 pounds and now I’m at 101! I am seeing more progress.
For other stuff unrelated to glutes and legs, I’ll go work out with my male friends, like doing back or arms yk, but for glutes and legs I’m not sure if I’m doing it right, if these are the right machines, or if the order I do them in is ok.
I usually stretch and warm up on the Stairmaster for like 5 min, and then I do:
- Leg press 3x12
- Leg extension 3x12
- Seated leg curls 3x12
- Leg abduction 3x10 (1 leaning forward, 2 straight, 3 leaning back)(I do the 10 reps pulse and hold)
Then I do 20 min of incline treadmill, 12 incline, 2 speed.
I was told by friends to do 3x12, but some say 3x8-10. I’m not sure which is better. I think what I want to do for legs is hypertrophy and make them bigger, but idk. I’m not sure what the whole compound and isolation workouts are either. Please help. I feel like an idiot. Also should I start taking creatine?
