Does anyone have any advice/recommendations on car hire vs public transport in Milan/Lake Garda? We’ll be flying to Milan Bergamo airport and staying in Peschiera del Garda in October, but our flight is expected to land around 23:15 which limits our transport options. This is our first holiday abroad and we have a 2 year old and a 4 year old to consider so we’re a bit lost. We’d also like to visit Florence and Limone sul Garda while we’re there but have been told not to drive to Florence. I’m leaning towards car hire to/from airport and around Lake Garda but I’ve heard mixed reviews and the deposits seem very excessive at £700-£900 even for a Fiat 500?

Any recommendations/advice would be much appreciated 🙏🏻 TIA
