I am in my fourth year of practice as a lawyer, and an Associate in one of the most prominent, if not the most prominent, law firm in the Philippines. I enjoy my work and work environment a lot, and I take pride that I'm part of that firm. The pay is decent, I have my own room, and I'm used to the dynamics of the firm. I mostly do Litigation work but I have experience in Corp, Labor, and Tax. Of course, work load is a different matter (and I seriously loathe it when the load is just too much).

An in-house opportunity suddenly opened up to me when I wasn't looking for it. I haven't said yes yet, but the pay is more than twice I'm earning. Thing is--I enjoy doing Firm work (not the work load though) because I get to learn a lot.

For lawyers who love to do Firm work but transitioned to an in house role, was it worth it? What made you decide to transition?

Thank you so much for your insights!
