Not sure if this is the right place, but thinking of getting a spec r. Engine is stock and has done 280k kms. Car isn’t in the country but hoping to build it before bringing it over. Priced at approx 20k aud.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one fletch this kind of mileage for sale so just wondering if it’s worth it. Definitely going to do a full rebuild, probably not aiming for crazy power yet but definitely down the line.

Am more so worried about chassis issue at this kind of mileage. Have checked for rust at the strut towers and underbody and they don’t seem tooo bad, but also could’ve just been spray painted over.

I don’t intend to flip it bringing it over, but if prices in au are mid to low 10s for this kind of mileage I’d pass on it.

Any thoughts?

Have stumbled upon a spec r s15.
Odo reads 280k kms with the stock motor. Not much done to it, but I can barely find any post or threads regarding high mileage cars.

I’m not too worried about the engine as I’ll do a full rebuild, nothing crazy. But more so worried abt the chassis.

Doesn’t seem to have much rust, and panels all seem original and good, so I don’t think it’s been crashed.

Any thoughts?
