Looking for some honest opinions from people who’ve actually used the new UniFi UPS 2U.
Current setup:
- UDM Pro Max
- USW Pro Max 24 PoE
- UNAS Pro 4
- 9U shallow wall rack (550mm depth)
My main priority is graceful shutdown and protecting the drives in the UDM/UNAS during outages — not long runtime.
I know APC/Eaton are objectively more mature UPS platforms and likely better value technically, but I keep coming back to the UniFi UPS because:
- shallow depth
- clean integration
- aesthetics/uniform rack
- native UniFi ecosystem visibility
I’ve seen mixed feedback around the current shutdown behaviour and runtime logic though, especially around immediate shutdown triggering and lack of configurable delay.
For those who own one:
- would you buy it again?
- is the ecosystem integration worth it?
- or would you go APC/Eaton + NUT instead?
Interested in real-world experience rather than spec sheet opinions.
