How are you getting customers to actually leave reviews for physical products?

I make a physical product that people genuinely seem to love, but I cannot get people to leave reviews.

It’s called the Giddyup Glove™. Basically, a mitten and a drink koozie joined forces.

People constantly tell me:
“This is genius.”
“I need this.”
“My friend would love this.”

Then I ask them to leave a review later and… nothing.

I include a thank-you card with a QR code in orders. I ask in person. People enthusiastically say yes. Almost nobody follows through.

Most of my sales so far have been at in-person events, but I’m trying to grow online sales this fall and do fewer markets. That means I need stronger social proof on my website before colder weather hits.

For those of you selling physical products:
What genuinely worked to increase reviews and testimonials?

Especially curious what works when many of your early customers bought in person, because once they walk away, it’s like they enter the witness protection program.

Product Studio Gone Missing?

I used to use the product studio that was on Canva to remove the backgrounds from the product photos that I would take, to put on my Shopify store. Now, I can't seem to find that anymore. Is everything being taken over by AI instead? I loved that tool because it would take 10 images at a time and remove all the backgrounds in one clean swoop. I don't want to go back to doing one at a time if I don't have to. Anyone have input on this?
