Looking for some advice. Decided to go to Sri Lanka. I'm 45, single with few budget constraints.

I honestly know very little but always heard good things. The south coast looks pretty solid, the more inland tea plantations and landscapes look stunning, heard the trian rode (heritage rail line?) is really good.

Flying into Colombo. Worth staying for a few days? What's the general vibe? Is it wild and chaotic like other south Asian big cities?

South coast looks quite developed for tourism, hear other areas are less so. And once you hit the less developed areas, the accomodation and experiences are a bit underwhelming.

Looking forward to reading some feedback and opinions.
